Sticky gammon steaks with bulgar and apple salad


100 g bulgar wheat

1 Granny Smith apple, cored and cut into thin strips

25 g chopped walnuts

1 tablespoon freshly chopped parsley

50 g blue cheese, such as dolcelatte or gorgonzola, cut into small pieces

4 tablespoons Newman’s Own Honey Apple Cider Dressing

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon oil

2 x 200 g gammon steaks


Simmer the bulgar wheat in pan of boiling water for 10 minutes, until tender, drain well and place in a bowl. Fluff with a fork and pour over 2 tablespoons of the dressing and mix well. Allow to cool, then stir in the apple, walnuts, parsley and cheese.

Mix the remaining 2 tablespoons of the dressing with the honey in a small bowl.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the steaks, over a medium heat, for 2-3 minutes each side, then pour over the honey mixture and simmer for 1-2 minutes until sticky.

Serve the steaks with the salad with any remaining sauce poured over.
